Please join us on September 23rd, 2023 for the first Annual Conference of the Community Remembrance Project of Missouri.

When: Saturday, September 23rd from 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

Where: The Black Archives of Mid-America in Kansas City, 1722 E 17th Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64108

Who: Organizations and individuals interested in the history, remembrance and repair of racial injustice in Missouri and its legacy in the mass incarceration system today.

Cost: $50 recommended donation (sliding scale and waiver available, box lunch, snacks, and coffee will be provided)

Featuring: Missouri CRP leaders, advocates, and death row exonerees. Including a tour of the Black Archives and the Missouri Soil Collection Exhibit. More TBA.

In partnership with the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI), the Community Remembrance Project of Missouri (CRP-MO) was established by Missourians to work in coordination with communities throughout the state to memorialize victims of racial terror lynching, raise public awareness, facilitate education, and engage in conversations around reconciliation. The centerpiece of these efforts revolves around Missouri's history of racial and economic injustice—particularly its legacy of racial terrorism.
